I have been attempting to copy several video clips I have received via email on to a CD disc but without success. The CD drive produces the message "Access Denied" whilst the DVD drive asks that a CD be inserted when there is already one there. Incidently I have copied several clips successfully on to floppy discs. Thank you in anticipation of your help.

To copy onto a floppy you can 'drag and drop' because the floppy has been formatted. A CD-R is not formatted so to copy onto a CD-R you need to use a program like NERO www.ahead.com There are other free ones also.
CDRW's can be formatted and used like a floppy but it wastes space and you still need a program. I think directCD or CDDirect is such a program but it might be part of another program.

DVD drive probably doesnt recognize the blank cd-r. Thats why you get an insert disk prompt.
Your cd-drive.. Is it a cd burner or just a cd-rom. If its just a cd-rom you wont be able to do it. Cd-roms read but wont write.
If its a cd burner.. See michael's post. You have to use burn software with the burner. The burn software formats [sets up] the blank cd-r so files can be copied.
