Please help!
I cannot copy from "My Photos" on C drive to my CD-RW drive.
I get the message "cannot create or replace ------ access is denied"
Also message says "Make sure disc is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use".
I try to format the CD but another message says "cannot format disc".
Basically, I cannot send my pictures from my hard drive to a CD without the above happening?????
Anti virus disabled, windows auto update disabled.
System Information:
OS Windows ME
256 mgs ram
1 gig HD
40 gig ATA 7200 rpm Western HD

thanks in advance

What are you using for burning software?
It should be as easy as drag and drop until the disk is full, and then burn.

Agree with jimi. You might be trying to drag and drop directly to the CD within Explorer. You can't do that. You must use your CD burning software, such as Easy CD Creator, Nero, etc. and follow the instructions of the program for creating a DATA disk.

after scanning the photo's, are you reducing
them to a usable size? some people scan the photo's too large and use all the memory to open them. use paint shop pro or similar to reduce the photo's to 800x600 resolution, the will also reduce the memory required to veiw them.

Try opening the Folder "My Photos" or "My Pictures" and selecting the contents instead of the Folder itself. System folders like my pictures and my documents don't like to be copied or cut and pasted, but the contents, no problem.

If your using adaptec directCD You should have direct cd running, look for systray icon or ctrl alt dlt to verify. Insert a blank CD. Direct cd will prompt you. if you choose to create a data disk that will be accessible thru a drive letter you can drag n drop your images to the CD just as you would files from folder to folder. After burning the files When you eject the disk you should be prompted. Choose the option that says soemthing like "make data accessible from all standard cdrom drives".
Another thing.. Ive also experienced problems trying to burn "my documents" folders with directcd as opeongo suggested. Nothing set in stone, completely intermittant just like every other burn error. Try creating a new folder Named images. Also use a CD-R instead of CD-RW when using direct cd. It saves time and frustration. Besides how many of us ever bother to format a cd-rw?
