I use Nero ('save track' option) to convert CDA to MP3 files and works o.k. but I got a warning saying that I could only use its trial mp3 encoder for 30 more times (reduces by one each time I save a track). So eventually, and sooner rather than later, my time will run out. Is there a reliable bit of freeware out there to do this ? Thanks Martin

Do a search at google for cd rippers, there are many free ones out there. If you have a Soundblaster sound card, Creative PlayCenter will do it. If not get Winamp it appears to be the most popular out there, I just use Creatives as its already installed. The Nero plugin is just a trial, you can buy it from Nero or you may find it free if you use certain sites.

there are some nice free ones. go to hotfiles.com or download.com and search for music or file converters. i have used dbPowerAmp (one word, formerly called Shuffler) for about two years now and it works great and is fairly easy, and is absolutely free! you can right-click on the file you want to convert and then choose a format like mp3 Lame. there is another converter/ripper called CDex which also works well, is free and easy to use, that is, unless you get in to the more advanced features.
