Comment: I never had this problem (or any problems, for that matter) before, but now my Windows (ME) crashes regularly. I think it may have something to do with my downgrading from XP, which would randomly reboot my pc. Now, even when performing simple updates, I get bsods with errors such as "0e: 016f: bff8e64b" and others. ME also occasionally just shuts down and displays a completely black screen except small green rods on the top of the display. After these errors, many times I have to cut power to my pc in order to restart it. This constant instability is starting to really bug me and I'd like a solution.

Reply: (edit)When you say "downgrading" do you mean that you re-installed Me over XP or did you un-install XP so that your system would return to Me. I had have Me and I upgraded to XP, I didn't like it so used the Add/Remove facility to revert to Me and I had no difficulty at all. If you were to clear that point there is bound to be someone to help you.

Reply: (edit)I booted into dos with a winme bootdisk, ran sys c:, and then deleted the windows and program files directories. Then, I installed ME after all that. Recently, I ran an fdisk on my machine and formatted the hard drive. When I reinstalled ME again, I still get that bsod that I never had before XP and I get that blank screen with green rods on top frequently as well.

Reply: (edit)My system is: 1.2 GHz AMD Athlon proc, Abit KG7 mobo, 512 MB DDR2100 RAM, IBM 40GB 60GXP HDD, GeForce2 MX Video Card, Sound Blaster Live! Value sound, HP CD-Writer Plus 8100 That is my system. This is really irritating me since I used to format and run ME fine when I had my old 400 MHz K6-2/POS mobo/128 MB PC100 RAM combo. T_T
