I have a comp runing win ME that can't browse the web. I can ping and tracert by IP but get no DNS resoulution when pinging by URL. (DNS problem I know, NOT) I can't get to any websites by typing the ip directly. Also I can't see the web page that hosted on my router, I can ping it just fine. All other comps on the network are running fine. I did just remove a BUNCH of maleware from this machine. It is posible some thing got broke/missconifgured in the procss, but what. I can't reinstall the OS because it's my roomates comp. Also this is a Wireless 802.11g 128bit WEP connection.

Any thougts ideas?

Thanks

Mschadt, SWAG, sounds to me as if something either got removed or corrupted during the cleanup, restore?

If malware is removed incorrectly it can mess up your connection. Perhaps this will help?
