hi. i am aware that windows xp has a wizard that enables you to connect to the internet by selecting an isp, entering your username and password, and it automatically creates a connection for u. I'm connecting to Sympatico high speed internet through a linksys router. is there a wizard like this in windows ME? if not, is there some other way to connect to the internet without an isp cd?

Yes. No ISP software required if you have a router correctly setup.

All you have to do is go to Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Internet Connection Wizard and run it one time. Tell it you have an ISP and that you connect through a local network.

On rebooting, if you have your network card setup and connected to the router, you should be able to access the Internet through the router. (This of course assumes the router is setup with the userID and password from the ISP and is making the connection through the modem to the ISP's network.)
