Configuring linksys wpc11 wireless card

I'm trying to install a wpc11 pci card in my laptop. I believe the driver is installed correctly. When I try and bind the tcp/ip protocol to the card in the network control panel, however, the binding seems to always be added to a NDIS 1394 Net Adapter entry even though I had selected the Wireless network PC card.

When you install TCP/IP, it generally binds to everything it can in your network stack unless you remove the entries... so I'm a little confused.
Could you list everything in your network stack as it appears?
You could also try disabling your Firewire (IEEE 1394) card for the time being to see if the problem goes away.

Problem solved. After waiting for linksys tech support for 40 minutes, the tech walked me through the reinstallation of the driver and had me disable the 1394 adapater, IRR adapter, and e/n NIC adapter. I was then able to bind tcp/ip to the wireless adapter and after reboot, I was connected to the access node.
Apparently, windows me thought it was trying to install for windows 2000 the first time. the guy says that this happens frequently.
Anyway, chalk this one up to the stable and robust OS we all know and love.
