Has anyone else been experiencing problems with using this site? Just now, no pages would load. (Other sites would, though.) I refreshed and eventually the forums page came up. However, a lot of the posts are out of order. There are ones from the ninth, tenth, and eleventh all mixed up.
Also, I have to keep logging into My Computing.net even though the little box says "Yes" to remember the login. It says Invalid password, and then I have to login again. (Cookies are enabled in my browser :)
Are they working on the servers or something?

I only log in if I am making a new posting, not on replies.
I've had 2 log on prompts before, but it's not really a problem if you only do this occasionally.
I'd imagine the slow loading is a temporary glitch - try clearing your temp internet files.

Burbble it's normal. Someone could of been updating pages, questions, replies. You know removing unwarranted(improper) things.

As for the dates issue. The date & time being show is from the last reply, not when the question was asked.
Hope this helped.

The only problem I have with Computing.net is with the humor police.

There was a hilarious thread last night under the subject line "OH GOD" and you can guess where that went.

It was pulled.

With all the prattle, drivel, off-topic, and inconsequential stuff (not to mention requests for cracks) that are posted here, it's amazing that what little humor exists is pulled.

To newbies here, we're not all a humorles lot, it just that the humor is deemed useless, and it's removed. Unless it's posted by a moderator.

This place either works like a Swiss watch or doesn't work at all due to server probs.
Most likely prob is subjective to your comp or a ISP issue.

I'm on a different computer now and not having problems. I'll check IE settings.

There's no high speed internet access where I live, unfortunately :(
(2003, Comcast says)

I have the latest Norton Antivirus Virus defs, recently scanned at House Call, and regularly use Ad-aware so it's not a virus or spyware.

Ah, I found the problem.

There was a cookie that had the wrong password in it for Computing.net, and another with the correct password. However, the one with the incorrect password was numbered [2] and the one with the correct password was numbered [4] so it was probably loading the one with the wrong password.

But it doesn't really matter since I deleted both cookies anyway :)
