Hi Guys,
Here is my problem:
My Computer stop responding after a while I am on the Net...It happens more often when I scroll down a Page or when I am Playing Chess in Yahoo web-site, Which uses Java " The cup of coffee to be clear".
Well, When it stops nothing works...Mouse is Still and CNTRL+ALT+CANC Doesn't work....So the only solution is to keep pressed the switch on my Laptop for About 5 secs and the PC will shut Down....After that I re- press normally the switch to start my Pc, which before loading windows will do the scan because the irregular shut down...and it's normal....But here is the Curios Thing:
When it finishes the scan the solution The answer is "Sometime" something wrong in the boot area, while some other time it tell me about some mistakes in TMP files" i normally deletes the TMP instead than correcting the mistake. The Curios thing??? WELL, after the scan, because the previous irregular shut down, My computer will always work...sometime i take it on for days and it keep working....The problem??? well i don't think it's a good idea to keep the Computer on for ever...also because the cache get full, 2nd "Most important" I think that if I keep shutting down My Pc from the main Switch My Pc soon or later will be totally ruined.....Any suggestion???
To solve the problem I deleted the folder with The TMP files, I also deleted Cookies But it didn't work.
When I start my Pc it doesn't use all the files..in fact i went on Ms config to uncheck all the stupid files that i really don't need to be loaded when I start the Computer...In this way my Computer is Faster, in fact before it tended to slow down.....Sometime I notice some graphic problem....Well I just gave a description of my problems with the solutions i tried to apply, but nothing worked....So if Anybody knows how to help me I really 'd appreciate it.
Thanx Since now......Bye

Angelo!!!!!!!

I don't know what the Cancel key is, but when the machine freezes, have you tried getting into Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and looking at the processes running? At that point, you should be able to determine what's causing the problem.

Hi Jennifer and Leroi..thanx for ur time to answer me.
Jennifer I meant CNTR+ALT+DEL in my 1st message instead of CNTRL+ALT+CANC...Sorry sometime my translation into english is not good, especially when it's about computer terms.
Hey Leroi i already went in that web-site and I noticed that i already had done those changes to my pc but still is not working.
any other suggestion???
AFTER SCANDISK FOR PREVIOUSE IRREGULAR SHUT DOWN, MY PC WORKS PERFECTLY??? WHY DOESN'T WORKK AS WELL FROM THE BEGINNING??? IT'S driving me crazy...i know if i keep shut down my pc from the main switch i'll be soon without a computer, help pzzzzzzz.
for instance few minutes ago ( I was here in computing.net) it stopped working after 5 minutes the pc was on...and the folder of tmp. files is empty.
anyway thanx again to take ur time guys, and waiting here for other tips or possible causes....bye everyone

My apologies. I didn't see that we were in the ME Forum. When you do Ctrl-Alt-Del do you see any processes that are not responding?

Have you run a scandisk and defrag to see if that improves performance?

What about starting in Safe Mode with Networking?
