Computer Randomly Reboots

CPU/Ram: 64

My computer randomly reboots upon start-up, after getting totally booted up, whenever it feels like it. It will stay on for a max of probably 5 minutes and then reboots itself. I have added no new software, hardware, etc and I have Norton Virus Software which detects no viruses. Help me........

what are you doing when the computer reboots?

have you tried any spyware removal programs?

Maybe a CPU heat problem. Are all of your fans working? Do you have a lot of dust built up around the vents or on the CPU?

Might sound archaic,but,take off the (side) cover,put a decent fan blowing into the inside of your case,full-blast.Boot up and see what happens.

It has happened to me. At first it was rebooting every 5min, but then it was every 30 sec until the PC was unusable.

1. I would check the CPU to make sure it is not overheating.

2. In my my case it happened to be my motherboard that was defective.
