Hi, Bruce. There is a small file that comes in a zip format which only takes a minute or two to download and install. I run WinME and use this application now and again and have not had any problems. The application is called "New Owner" See below for details, it is also freeware which is good. Best of luck, DougtheBug.

_______________________________________________________________PLATFORMS:
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0DESCRIPTION:
NewOwner gives you an easy way to change your computer's registration
information--the name and company information that you enter when you first
install the operating system. You will want to do this if, for example, you
bought a used computer or received a hand-me-down from a co-worker. Installation
utilities frequently copy the system's registration information when you install
new software, so it's inconvenient when this information is incorrect.REVISION HISTORY:
Initial release.INSTALLATION:
Extract the files in NewOwner.zip to a subdirectory on your hard disk, and
create a shortcut to NewOwner.exe in your shell. To uninstall NewOwner, simply
delete the program files. For usage details, refer to the program's online help
file.SUPPORT:
Support for the free utilities offered by PC Magazine Extra can be obtained
electronically in the Utilities discussion area of PC Magazine's Web site. Go to
the URL http://www.pcmag.com/discuss.htm and select the Utilities area. You can
also access the Utilities discussion area from the utility's download page. The
authors of current utilities generally monitor the discussion area every day.
You may find an answer to your question simply by reading the messages
previously posted. If the author is not available and you have a question that
the sysops can't answer, the editor of the PC Magazine Extra Utilities will
contact the author for you.LICENSE INFORMATION:

Hi Doug
Tried your link but it doesnt seem to work.
I have searched ZDnet for NewOwner but it doesnt appear to want to play.
Is it still there?

Hi, Btuce. About NewOwner. I noticed that the moderator of this site was very quick in making his points by underlining certain parts of my previous post to you. Certainly NewOwner does not stipulate WinME as one of its user platforms but I run WinME and have had NO problems with this app. I also notice the moderator was at pains to underline the copyright part of the information given. That is correct but I received the programme free from PC Mag in the first place quite legitimately too.
To find out more and also where to download this small app from use CNet Search.com, type exactly what you see here in the search box on the CNet Search.com website, NewOwner.
You will then be directed to the download site and it is freeware, not shareware.
