computer freezes, speakers screech

Whilst playing games the screen freezes and a loud sound comes from the speakers. sound card - sound blaster 5.1 live graphics card - Geforce 4 MX440 128mb SDRAM I checked the temp when it happened last time system temp 25 C/77 F CPU temp 51 C/ 123 F Direct x 8.1 can anyone help as it getting really annoying

The screech could be from a cell phone interfering with a wireless connecton. That temp crap is just for looks. What games are played on this machine?> What's the full spec layout of it? I'm not concerned about the graphics card, that should handle anything, the sound card shouldn't be faulty, Are the drivers installed correct, any errors during the installation? Does the computer have 128MB? Sounds like this machine is beggan for more resourses.

The screen freezing happens on Soldier of Fortune 2, Medeival total war, OO7 Nightfire, all current games we are wanting to play, and Lord of the rings. The specs are Athlon XP 2000+ Windows ME 256 MB Ram PC 133 SDRAM Motherboard K7s5a by elite 60 GIG HDD Geforce 4 MX440 128 MB SDRAM Sound blaster 5.1 sound card All drivers installed correctly!! I have now brought a exhaust for the back to vent out hot air, and i have taken the CPU fan cleaned all the gunk of it and applied some silver compound. I have also changed the memory for a different make same specs. I have just downloaded the latest drivers for the graphics card and i am going to apply them, later today. I am reaching the end of my tether!!!
