Hi all.
I have big problems with my vaio neotbook pcg-qr10. I am trying to set up my internal modem, but i can not acces the com port(3) to which the modem is assigned. When I run diagnostics and click for 'more info' it says can´t open port.I can not find the ports in device manager and I can not change any port settings in Bios. I can not find any conflicts under the 'properties' tab in device manager.
I found a link that told me to change the port settings in win.ini but that didn´t help either. Please help me. I´ve run out of ideas...

You modem is a "soft modem", not a hardware modem so there is no physical COM3: hardware to find. It is created by the modem software drivers, which in your case appear not to be loading for some reasons (either you have removed its startup program from the start list, removed the drivers or the modem adapter hardware is broken).
Suggest you first locate the modem in Device Manager, select it and click Remove button to remove it from your system configuration. Then reboot and see if Plug and Play can find it and its drivers (they should still be on the system unless you deleted them) and install it again. You might have to find/download drivers for it again and install them if PnP can not find them on your system or the CD that came with it.
