Reply: (edit)ron.b, "...it in windows media player..." Which one!? Here, and select codecs. Just one place. Did you try letting the media player, get(dowload) the needed codecs? What's the extension (.xxx), on the file? avi maybe?

Reply: (edit)a good clue was the mpg/vob info. This would lead me to believe that it came from a DVD which uses the MPEG 2 codec. Windows doesn't come with the MPEG 2 codec so this is why Media player won't play it. You can try to find an MPEG 2 codec or install a DVD player such as WinDVD or Power DVD. This will install the codec you need.
