Windows Media played back my camera's avi movie files now it wont, says no codec avaliable to download tried re-install of software but no better.???
HELP???

just tried quick time but its a no go, same as media player it plays the sound but no picture???

As I mentioned in your other post, Quicktime should have played them. Usually when you open the AVI file, it will say "converting" and then play the file. What happens when you try to play the file in Quicktime?

it says that the file cannot be played.

As said earlier the movie (avi) files used to play in windows media but now they wont???
i dont understand why that occurred. only the sound plays i media with no picture.

Reinstall the camera software, as it may be creating the AVIs with a proprietary or non-standard codec.

This codec should be installed after installing all the applicable software for the camera.

tried for the 4th time uninstalling and reinstalling the camera's software and now it works.
