I have used the "add/remove programs" control panel tool to remove several old applications from my machine running windows Me. However, after doing the uninstall the apps still show up in the selection menu of items that I can uninstall. If I click on the item again I get an error, mostlikely because the app has already been deleted.

How can I clean up the list of programs that show up in the "remove program" control panel list?

There is a program TweakUI that can delete those entries. It used to be available on Microsoft's site but you may have to do a search to find it.

The free program "TweakUI" will remove those left over programs listed in add/remove. It does alot of other usefull things you might be interested in also. It's worth the money! (grin)

If you don't want to add another program, you might use Search/for files or folders. If you clean up the remnants of the progam, you should be able to take it off the Add/Remove list.

Thanks for everyone that replied. Last night I tried both "TweakUI" and "Reg Cleaner". Not only did I fix this problem but I was able to fix three other issues as well!
