I'm sure I've done this before but I've been in XP for so long I've forgotten.
Youngster in my house has managed to completely corrupt her machine with downloaded crap. It seems that the only solution is to re-format the system drive and re-install Win ME (an over-install didn't help. I know that you can't boot from the Win ME CD so I need to know how to boot to a place on a clean drive that I can install Win ME.

Download a file that will create a windows ME bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com. Download the file to your desktop. Put a clean floppy disk into the floppy dive and double click the file. That will create the bootdisk for you.

Create a Windows ME Startup Diskette in Windows ME's Add/Remove Programs, Startup Disk tab. Use it to boot the system and run Format C: then run D:\SETUP.

Thanks for the help, worked like a charm through the re-format and ME install until the third restart in the install (right at the end) and just past the password screen everything stoped. The Blue Screen of Death. I'm going to try the whole process again in the morning. Thought I was home free.
