I have accidentally messed up Windows Me on my brand new computer. My friend says there is a way that I can "clean install with my OEM disk" or something like that. Is that possible with the Windows Me disk that came with my new system? I'm new at this; I don't know what "OEM" or "clean install,” means. My friend says my “version number is 3000", what ever that means. Please help, if there is a way to get windows reinstalled without buying Windows Me from the store, I’ll be a happy guy.

The CD that contains Windows Me that came with your computer is called an "OEM" CD, or "Original Equipment Manufacturer". You can use this to re-install Windows Me over the one you have now and it will retain your files, but fix your problem.
A "Clean Install" is the installation of an operating system's full version. Meaning you do not upgrade over a previous operating system, such as Windows 98.
"Version Number 3000" is the version of Windows Me you have. Microsoft assigns programs version numbers so people can know how current their program is. 3000 is the final release of Windows Me, the one everyone has.
Anyway, just take the CD with Windows Me and reinstall the operating system. or, if you can, goto start, programs, accessories, system tools, and choose system restore. Click on a date when your pc was working and click restore.
