NOPE.

But if you don't have Microsoft's TweakUI v1.33, download it & turn off the splash screen.

you might try making DoubleBuffer=0

If my memory serves me correctly, DoubleBuffer was only required if you had compressed hard disks.

With the price of hard disks, no one uses compressed hard disks these days do they?

What will have a far greater effect on boot time is what you have in Config.sys and autoexec.bat.

Okay I did all the changes mentioned in the MSDOS.SYS and found no way to eliminate the Windows ME splash screen on start-up:

Time to fully loaded Desktop with all Icons: 80 seconds

Time to fully loaded startup items: 150 seconds!! Thats 2 minutes and 30 seconds!!

The ONLY startup items I am loading that are visible on the desktop are:

McAfee VirusScan
Zone Alarm Firewall (Free Version)
Setpoint (Logitech Keyboard)

I THINK I can remember at one time everything loaded quicker, but not sure..

If you wish to have no Windows ME image during boot up simply put this line into your msdos.sys under options
Logo=0
Also run msconfig from the run prompt and go to startup items and disable any that aren't needed except for systray.exe and scanreg. The rest are at your discrtion.
