I cannot change my colour resolution. I go into Settings, Control Panel, Display Properties, Settings change from 16 Color to either High Color (16 bit) or 256 Colors click OK or Apply, I am asked to restart my PC but the change does not take effect. Even if I don't restart the PC, If I go back and look it is set back to 16 Color. I have fried setting the advanced setting to restart, and don't restart but it makes no difference. Any one any ideas?

Does your graphic card have its own application for changing settings .I have an ATI Radeon and the software package that is how you change seting ,opposed to the built in Windows appeaarance tab. When you open the Windows desktop setting appearance tab ,is there an advanced button in the lwer corner ? If yes c;lick on that and it will open a whole new set of tools for things to adjust Good Luck

I had this problem a few weeks ago. Just re-install your graphics card drivers.

And which graphics card did you say you had? And have you checked for updated drivers? Or reinstalled your existing ones?
