While online I am suddenly getting constant warnings about invalid or expired certificates. I am using IE6 on ME. The problem is that when i view them they are neither expired or invalid. I have disabled every possible prompt in Tools and use the lowest possible security settings. Any ideas how to stop this?

You've answered your own questions; you're seeing these popups because you're using the lowest possible security settings, so there is nothing to block the stupid popups.

To protect yourself, use PCPitstop to test your system security settings; use the IE browser to do this, because PCPitstop uses ActiveX controls to test your system performance and check for weak spots in your browser and firewall security apps.

http://www.pcpitstop.com

Run the full set of tests; you'll find the link in the blue box to the left. The tests only take a few minutes, and you don't need to set up an account if you don't want to. If you DO create an account, you will be able to make any changes that a recommended, then retest your system and compare the results from any previous tests. That way, you'll have a better idea of what settings changes have helped you, and which changes have made things worse.

I recommend PCPitstop to anyone who questions the security of their system, and use it myself to double-check the systems I repair before I return them to the client. It is an excellent website, and I think you'll be impressed with the results you get once you test your system and improve your security settings.

Just a reminder; if you run the full suite of tests (which will only take a few minutes), you'll see various colored flags on the results page. A checkered flag is good; a yellow or red flag means you need to make some changes to your system. Simply click on the flag to open a new page related to the problems discovered by PCPitstop.

Once all the tests are done, download and install a SECURE browser, such as Firefox or the Mozilla Suite, and use IE only if a particular website requires it; you can find those browsers at this link:

http://www.mozilla.org/download.html

Good luck; let us know what you learn, and remember to pass the word about PCPitstop...
