Howdy Yuall
In our Windows folder there's this "SETUPAPI.LOG" that ME appends to if anything is installed. Mine's got lots of this:
"The driver signing class list (WINDOWS\INF\certclas.inf) was missing or invalid. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified."Don't know if itz part of ME or not. Maybe driver software is expected to supply it.
Is your "SETUPAPI.LOG" like mine? GOT "certclas.inf"??
Thanksabunch to whomsoever could checkit out.
ONWARD TO THE APOCALYPSE!

Yep. Got a few of those in the file.
It just means that the company did not submit a copy of the program to Microsoft to test and verify that it met their standards for compatibility with what they want systems to conform to. And that the company did not pay Microsoft a pile of money for doing some simple testing and then give them a certification class certificate to include in the file, so that the windows install program could verify it is certified by Microsoft. Does not mean anything else.
For example: on my system, installing the video device drivers for the built in adapter on the system board generates such a message. Microsoft insists that video adapters have 16MB more of RAM available for video adapter in order to be certified as meeting their standards. The video chip set used on the board only supports 8 MB (more than enough for my needs as I am not into games). So the manufacture can not get a certification from Microsoft and the error occurs when their drivers are installed.
