I have a Dell system running Windows ME. Recently, the CD drive stopped working. If I put a cd in the drive it says, "insert CD". I updated the driver and the firmware for the drive. Any ideas?

wellz... that's how my cdrom drive die on me.. Try booting up to dos prompt with cd option. And try reading the data on a cd to make sure it does read it from there... If it doesn't work, return it.. But if it's been awhile, i guess test it on another computer for last result... Good luck
