CD-RW won't stay closed

i was wondering if anyone would have any ideas on what would be wrong and if it is fixable with my CD-RW drive it won't stay closed, i close it and it just opens back up it would do that every once in awhile before, but work eventually now it won't work at all my computer just ran out of warranty (go figure) i don't know what brand it is, it came with my compaq computer thanx much! matt
