Comment: My cd-roms drives aren't recognized by my computer and i cn't get them back. Also my sound doesn't work. My soundcard is in place and working but whenever i got to play something there is no sound. The speaker icon in the taskbar is gone too. Someone please tell me how to get them back!! Thanks

Reply: (edit)Need a little bit more info. What did you do prior to experiencing the problem. Have you checked Device manager and see if the CD-ROM's and Soundcard are listed in there. Do you have any "Other" devices listed. If you do have "Other" devices listed, highlight each one and remove them, Do NOT reboot. Make sure you have the current drivers for each of your devices handy. If you don't you will need to go online and get them. Then reboot and install each with the new drivers. HopeItHelps, -me-

Reply: (edit)What OS are using and do u hav the original cd driver for ure hardware(sound card)... What is your sound card products name? Xwave4000,etc etc...??? Is it inbuilt?
