Comment: This is my problem. My CDROM stopped working so I used the millenium start up disk and reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows ME using the CDROM drive. When I've installed ME the CDROM won't work. The computer is showing a CDROM and it is listed in the device manager with no conflict and no yellow exclamation mark by it. But if I put a CD in the computer doesn't recognise it. When I reinstalled ME it recognised my cdrom as drive E: On the computer it is recognised as D:. I've tried changing the drive letter but to no avail.HELP PLEASE

Reply: (edit)Can you see the CDROM in the BIOS and/or on POST? Does the CD actually spin when you insert it, or does the light on the CDR stay orange? As for the drive letter change from DOS to Windows, that's perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.
