Comment: In Windows Me, sometimes the "CD drive icon" disappears from My Computer. I mean only the floppy drive, the hard disk and the Control Panel are there. I need to restart the computer maybe more than once to solve this problem. I checked the device status "The device is working properly".
WHAT IS GOING ON?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

in device manager right click the cd drive and see if there are any yellow ? or ! marks or red x,s
if not try removeing cd drive from device manager and rebooting.
allso if none of the above work do a registry search for NOIDE delete any found
