about a month ago i got a virus on my computer and i had one of my moms friends fix it about a week later i got it back. well you know when you go in to my computer it shows 3 1/2 floppy and that other stuff. well it does not show ether one of my cd-roms. and when i put a disk in the light blinks a couple of times and then stops and nothing else happens.

supersuperman, depending on what sort of nasty's involved, you may need to clean again. Some critters hide in restore and reinfect. Others have a 'sleeper' which lies dormant for a predetermined time and then activate. Other times, you revisit a website and get reinfected.
A good AV running all the time is your first line of defense. If you don't have one, get one (they're some excellent free ones). Meantime there're some free online scans like Housecall, etc., that can clean most things. Find a list of scans @:
