Hi

I am currently running Windows ME on a Compaq Presario Desktop 1.2ghz with 256mb RAM. The tower came with two Cd-Roms, one burnable and the other is a DVD. When I insert a CD into either one of the CD-Roms I have to reboot in order for the roms to acknowledge the cd's. If I switch out the cd with another it will still show the previous cd and all the information from that cd. So in order to get the CD-Rom to recognize the new cd, I again have to reboot. Refreshing the drive doesn't do a thing. If anyone has experienced this problem themselves or may know the solution I would appreciate all help and suggestions.

Regards,

Shea

That is normal if you use Explorer.I go to Start>Run>D:(or whatever your cd ,dvd is)>
Run.Or you can go to My Computer and click
on the drives' icon.

I appreciate your help, and it is my fault for not explaining in more detail. When I go to the drives via 'Run' it still shows the old cd even after I have inserted a new one. Same when I go to My Computer and go to the drive's icon. I must always reboot when inserting a new cd.

So if there is any other advice I'd appreciate it.
