Having a weird problem with installing Windows ME. When I insert the boot disk, it was freezing on the CDROM driver install. I tried 2 different cdroms, same problem. The weird thing is that Windows XP installs fine and finds the CDROM, but Windows ME won't. What I have done to this date is: a)tried different cdrom drives b)reconfigured slave master config c) eventually installed XP, copied ME data to drive c, and ran install from the hard drive. This installed ME, but now it will not boot if the CDROM is plugged in.
I recently upgraded my Bios on a Microstar K7T266 Pro2 motherboard to version 3.6. I am not sure if this is related. I have found no parallels listed on the internet, but this is obviously frustrating.
