I recently swapped my second system's MB to an ASUS A7V266E. When I tried to install the 4in1 ASUS drivers the cd-rom stopped. the the system locked. On boot up the bios read my cd-rom but whenthe OS [ME] came up I had no cd-rom. It is not listed in device manager. I checked for a NOIDE entry in the registry but there is none. The cd-rom disappeared from my system. How can I get it back in?

Wawa Dave, Thanks for the reply, but it's not something so simple. I've been through all the steps up to and including registry checks for NOIDE entries as I mentioned earlier. I have none. The cd-rom just LEFT my system when I was trying to install MB drivers. Anyone else have any deeper thoughts?
