when you say it doesn't happen to all cdrs could it be that they are two different brands? what cd-rom brand and model do you have?

I have some sony cds, some memorex cds, some maxwell cds.

Some soney CDs may work perfect while another Soney may work poorly. Some Memorex may work while other Memorex work poorly.
I try several types of Cdrs and all work the same. SOme work ok some don,t.

They speed up and slow down for a min or 2 before coming to a stop, and before im able to open the Cdr drive and view whats on the Cdr.

Programs will not work in a CD player. If you mean you recorded some music to a CD-r then it should play if you recorded it as a music file and not a data file.

I read somewhere, music copied to the PC via Windows Media Player will only play on Windows Media Player. If you have a choice I would select to save the files on the PC as MP3's as these are a universal file type.

BTW
CDRW's work in PC's but will not play on most CD players (something to do with the laser light not being bright enough ?)

Hello Buddy,

Are you finalising all your burning sessions?
If a CD isn't finalised, you won't be able to read it in your CD-R drive. You could also try burning at a slower speed.

Regards, Ray.

Check response number 5.

Easy CD Creator normally has a default setting of "Finalize Session. Don't Finalize CD"

The proper setting should be "Finalize CD".

When making CD add file to list then click record.

This should clear up the problem.

Then below where it says "start recoding", click "options".
Click on "Finalize CD" under Track At Once.
