Comment:
I have a dell Latitude CSX with an external floppy and CD ROM drive. The floppy drive connect to the parallel port and the CDROM drive connects on the side through another cord. I recently reformatted the hard drive but it won't load the MSCD001 driver nor will it recognize the CDROM drive. When I turn on the computer, it says..."diskette drive 1 seek failure"...then it will ask me if I want to load with CDROM Support...So I chose that option then it begins to load the drivers on the bootdisk, it will load everything until it gets to the OAKTECHNOLOGY message but then gives me the message "device driver not found: MSCD001 No valid CDROM device drivers selected.
I've read some of the similar threads on here regarding my problem but the solutions doesn't seem to work. I've even tried copying the boot files on my disk to the C: drive to see if that would work as well as editing the config.sys and autoexec.bat files. Still no luck. Can anyone share their knowledge on how to fix my problem? Greatly appreciate it!
