Music CD in the player but no sound and the tracks skip (in order)after a few seconds of playing. The sound card is a Soundblaster AWE32.

I have tried a spare CD player but the result is still the same, so I can discount faulty player, all cables are connected and I've even replaced the drivers, all settings on the volume control are correct - nothing muted etc, getting stumped now for ideas, any help most welcome, I've searched past posts but no help there.

Any ideas?? Thanks.

Did you check the audio cable from the CD player to the sound card?
