Hi
i've been getting errors on my cd-drives lately. I can't find the drives in "My Computer" (I have a DVD drive and a CD-RW on my computer) I have tried everything.
Including Reinstalling, updating , uninstalling,etc....
But no matter what I do, everytime I go in My Computer, their are no CD drives, only the C and the A drive.
When I got to device manager, I got to this error:
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

I don't know if something is wrong with the jumpers or not. How do I check??

I like to help you.
Open your Computer Case and checke that your DVD and CD drive cables are connected correctly.
If that doesn't work you can choose to buy a new computer that will work.

I hope I really helped you.

Use a bootdisk with cdrom support to see if it detects your drive. That should tell you if it is a hardware or software issue.

It is also possible that your IDE controllers have been corrupted and need to be reinstalled. Have a look in device manager to see whether there is an alert mark against any of them. Try going to properties and reinstalling the drivers.
