Subject: CD Copying with Easy CD Creator 4
|
Comment: I am having trouble when trying to copy a CD when using the CD Copy mode of the above prog. After selecting CD Copy mode I am asked to insert the source disc, which I do in my 40 speed Rom drive. As soon as the disc starts to be read the screen goes black and everything locks up so the only thing I can do is reset my PC.I have tried data,music,mp3 discs all with the same result. If I insert a blank CD into my Yamaha CD copier there is no problem its only once the source disc in my CD Rom drive is being read that the fun begins.I am currently running ME on a Raid Mobo with 1000hz AMD Duron chip with 128 meg of memeory. When using the same set up,drives etc on my Pentium 200mmx there was no problems.I do not have access to any other copying progs so I cannot try them. Can anyone help. Thanks Roy

Reply: (edit)You need to put the source in your burner. Once it reads the CD, it will eject the source and ask for the blank.

Reply: (edit)I understand but I have the same and the instructions that came with my burner say not to do that. When you have two devices sharing an IDE channel you can cause problems. If yours are on different channels or are scsi then I guess you have different problems. BTW, do have DMA on for your drives?

Reply: (edit)MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE UPDATES FOR EZCD (OLDER VERSIONS DONT WORK WITH ME) IF NOTHING CHANGES TRY DISABLING THE DMA ON YOUR CDRECORDER(SOUNDS FUNNY BUT MIGHT WORK)

Reply: (edit)for copying cds get clone cd ,much better and copy protection doesn't stop it. it reads the cd in a 48x and burns from the cdrw i just let it make an image takes 2-3 minutes, and set the burn speed to match your cdrw.
