Hi all.

I occasionally do a CD burn when the need arises using NERO. In the manual on the first page under the heading of "Copying a CD" there are 2 sub headings, 'Image Copy' and 'Copy on the Fly'.

What is 'Copy on the Fly" and how is it different from any other copying?

Regards

On the fly is disc to disc so if you have a CD-ROM drive and a CDRW drive it copys from one to the other.
The best results that I have found is an Image this reads the CD you are copying and saves it as an image file on your hard drive then writes the image file to a blank CDR, this is also handy if you want to do more than one copy of the same CD. But if you don't want the image file's to keep taking up hard disc space you must set it to delete the image file after a successful write.

Thanks Warlock.

However, to clarify the latter part of your explanation about coping an image to the hard drive. Is that not how a normal CD copy/burn works?

I ask this because in my case I put in the original, take it out when told to do so and insert a blank CD when again instructed and the copy is made.

Do you mean that you are saving the whole lot to the hard drive as a file?

Regards
