hey, my cd burner stopped working for some reason. the brand is 'justlink' it opens and I even opened up my computer to make sure that all connections we're proper and working, it seemed to stop working after I did a system recovery. Anyone?

AlanFR, SWAG, since you did a restore, is it possible you restored to a time pre-driver or even pre-installation? Start>programs>accessories>system tools>system information will list what you have now. HTH. Ed in Texas.

It didn't come with any software. and 'Ed in Texas' every time I tried doing what you said my comp would freeze.

How about trying remove in device manager and then reboot ,the system should detect the burner on startup ,and open the new hardware wizard and prompt you to install, perhaps it will then locate the drivers software etc ,upon reinstalling the burner ? I know it sounds to simple to work however worth a try ! To play it safe you can always create a restore point B/4 trying this ! Good Luck Nick
