I'm having trouble dowloading a new game that I brought. Every time I try to install it, it keeps telling that my cashe size is not big enough. Therefore I went to the system settings and found that my cashe size was 256 MB, too small for what I need. I try to change it, no luck because it would not allow me to. I've got a Dell 8100 computer. Please help!

This is something I posted previously on the same subject:
Go here for a recent discussion; note that the hyphen after cgi is needed:

Some follow up: after jumping through some hoops for MS, and some begging, they finally gave me their "hot fix." It only helped a tiny bit, if at all.What did seem to help was adding these lines to c:\windows\system.ini, after the [vcache] heading:
MinFileCache=16384
MaxFileCache=65536
ChunkSize=512The Min Cache value is 1/8 of physical memory, and Max is 1/4; I have 256 memory; adjust yours accordingly.
For the rationale for this (and also the best explanation about the swapfile you'll find) go to: http://www.rojakpot.com/ and click on the SpeedDemonz area. Yes, it is slow loading, but it's worth the wait.
