I have benn getting a lot of .dll error messaages like their missing or not accessable. I've located the files but the message says that it could not be found. I've tried anti virus programs but still no luck. I've tried reinstalling the .dll files and the same. The programs i am trying to run are on-line gaming, dvd rom drive, and some files using volume control like winamp. I'm going nuts and i think my computer is being eaten by a virus verry slowly cuz every other day theres a program i cant access. I'll list some of the error messages to give you an idea.

1. error loading mmsys.cpl, one of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found.
2. a required .dll program, dplayx.dll, was not found.
3. the required .dll file, ddraw.dll, was not found.

these are some of the error messages i have gotten by trying to open programs that use the internet. if there is anyway someone could tell me the solution to these problems, you have my deepest grattitude.
Thank you.

If you think you have a virus then defenitly get an antivirus program of some sort. Try going to your bios and load the defaults.

Are you running dx8??If not install it from here>>
http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/
This would be ddraw.dll and dplayx.dll issues
I read a MS article that confirmed this problem with "age of empires",im sure other games could be problematic. Also this may be your musicmatch related problem(mmsys.cpl)as dx8 is required for audio support as well.
I would uninstall the problem programs, install DX8,and then reinstall the programs again. If the problems persist I would run dxdiag(START>RUN>type"dxdiag" with no quotes and run ALL the self diagnostic tests from there.Updating all your sound and video drivers wouldnt hurt either.
good luck

MacAfee anti-virus is a problem, don't use if you add a virus scan to ME. Many on these ME boards use "Inoculate" AV shareware with good results.
