I have windows ME down loaded yahoo messanger,deleted it now can't get on cable internet, or run scandisk it says started 10 times do you wish to keep receiving this message if you say no it runs for ever. can not run defrag runs for ever nothing shows up ,before this happened I could run maint. wizard in about 5 minutes it's a 1.3 processor I'm working with 256 mg ram. any help? Maintenance Wizard is a piece of junk. You probably assumed it was doing it's job, but you can't defrag in 5 minutes. Download a bootdisk from startdisk.com. After you make the bootdisk, use it to start the computer and run a thorough surface scandisk. A thorough scan can take an hour or more for each 10 gigabytes of hard drive space. After scandisk completes restart your computer in Safe Mode and run defrag.
