This problem just started last night. When I signed on (AT&T Worldnet) I tried to print out one of my emails. The print dialog box comes up, and after clicking on print, nothing happens. And nothing is in the print queue.
I went to websites, and the same thing is true, so it's not AT&T email. I called AT&T and they said it's a problem with Internet Explorer.
I have not been able to repair IE for several months now; this is the error message (abbreviated): the version of these dll files need to be greater than 5.50.4807.2300 - webcheck, msidle, sens, and sensapi. (No matter what I download from Windows Update, I can't seem to get these dll files on my computer.)
I tried to reinstall IE on top of itself, and that made no difference. I was going to uninstall IE altogether and reinstall, but the only options that I see are (1) Add a component; (2) Repair IE; (3) Restore the previous configuration.
I never had this problem before, and I didn't do anything yesterday that I haven't been doing for a very long time, so I do not know what caused it.
Any ideas on a fix?

I found the problem!
In IE, I went to File/Page Setup/Printer and somehow the printer was switched to a Fax program I never used. Problem solved.
* But how did that happen?
* Any ideas on how I can get the needed dll files, or otherwise re-enable the IE Repair function?
* Generally, I have no problems with IE 5.5. Some people think if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and others think if it ain't broke, tweak it. I'm not sure what category IE6 falls into. I've seen too many posts about IE6 problems. Are the "improvements" worth it, or is it just more bloated problematical software with dubious new features?

In Add/remove programs, remove IE5.5 by selecting (3) Restore the previous configuration. This will put you back to your previous IE5. Now you can reinstall IE5.5 or IE6, and it will work.
