cant open programs

whenever i try to open any program i get a message. example: "windows cannot find c:\program files\windows media player\wmplayer.exe. you may have typed the name incorrectly in the run dialog, or another open program cannot find a system file. I get that type of message when i try to open anything. Ive ran my virus scan and it sais that i dont have any viruses. PLEASE HELP.

swsh238151, SWAG, may not solve your problem, but worth a try. Right click on the file you can't open and try another program like IE to 'open with'. Maybe it is just trying to use the wrong thing. IE or Notepad can open most things. So can Irfanview (a freebie) if you're trying to open something graphics related. HTH. Ed in Texas.
