I recently formatted my harddrive and now i want to reinstall ME, but all the bootdisk Ive tried so far on bootdisk.com wont work so what are some alternatives?
When you use the boot disk it creates a virtual drive D:Your cdrom should be asigned asE: So at the boot A:\ prompt Maybe you should type E: then type setup and then press enter.
Did you use the win 98 bootdisk from bootdisk.com Windows98 OEM ?If so did you choose to boot with cdrom support?Do you a dog gone manufacturer cd instead of regular windows ME?
ok i got the setup part...but when it starts the setup it says windows needs a certain amount of bytes to run the setup and im sure i have enough space cause i reformatted the whole drive...its a 40gb by the way....so i was wondering is it because its a NTFS partition? how can i partition it back to Fats32 partition? i tried deleteing the NTFS partition and repartioning the drive but it doesnt ask me if i want to partion it as NTFS or Fats32..what do i do now? And im sorry if you guys arent quite understanding me...i really appreciate all the help you guys are offering.

When booting off the WinME boot floppy, all you have to do is read the screen....select "with CD-ROM support" & after it loads, the screen will tell you what drive letter to use for the CD-ROM. Boot disks from bootdisk.com usually use the letter "R". So when it finally stops at the A: prompt, simply switch to R:, then type SETUP & hit the enter key, like so:
