Comment: I got a 1.2Mhz 40GB AMD and i canīt install Windows ME on it.
I just got it so itīs a clean install. I really need step by step instructions.
PLease help me fast!!!

Reply: (edit)It should not be that difficult. Boot with your ME Boot Disk Setup your hard drive (fdisk), partition the way you want. If you don't know how you want go will 1 partition. Reboot Format the hard drive. Then run Setup from your ME CDROM. That basically it.

And my application tools is located on D:
(whitch also is my cd drive) but the computer says that cdrom unit is E: where i find three files "autorun.inf"."udfrchk.exe" and "udfrinst.zl". E: is also "UDFREADER" What now that means. Itīs a brand new computer, so there shouldnīt be anything wrong whit it...

they might have given you the wroung set of system restore disks. if they dont match your bois configuration it wont go.
have you got boot floppy? if not got www.bootdisk.com
and d/l m.e boot disk and useit and try at the a:fdisk /mbr in case some thing in there
stopping loading of system cd
try just putting recovery disk 1 in computer and rebooting dose it install now?
ihave not used recovery disks in a long time
