I am unable to access the Internet on my home computer. I receive an error message that IE has caused an error in Kernel32.dll and the IE connection then closes. I ran Spybot and Adaware in Safe Mode and showed no problems, although Adaware hangs up when scanning my Favorites file. My question is if I can restore the Kernel32.dll file from my System disk, or is there a solution to the problem? As always, tahnk for any help!

Zeke849, SWAG, dunno the answer for you. Here's what I'd do FWIW. Since there seems to be something in your favorites causing a hiccup on the scan, I'd assume there is something in there causing a problem. Is there something in there you don't recognize? What if you copy the file to disk, delete the file and start again? Internet then? So long as you have the file on disk, you can always get them back if wanted.

Zeke849, another thought occured to me after the previous post. You may have a corrupted
Kernel32.dll file. What if you simply restore your system to a previous date? That would invoke another directory (hopefully a good one!).

Thanks, Ed in Texas! I did restore to a previous date, but it did not solve the problem. I plan to try again. Also, I will look up my Favorites and take a look, but that has not been corrupted in the past. I'll try it all and suggestions are apreciated.

Thanks Wawadave!
I found one of these links this morning by Googling Kernel32.dll. The others are new and I hope to explore these tonight, if I can get to the Internet. Your time and assistance are appreciated.
