can't get on internet

I installed a belkin wireless card to this laptop to access my home network. I can get into the network fine, but can't access the internet on my cable router. All the computers on the network connect fine. When I ping a web page it says no host found, but when I the web pages ip address ,it pings back successfully. The isp tech said it was the operating system, is this true? Any ideas would be a great help. Thanks

tvboss, SWAG, is it possible you need to grant permission on your router firewall? Could your computer be recognized as an outsider? HTH. Ed in Texas.
