cant find comm port

You don't install them, they are allready there. Right click My Computer/properties/devive manager. That is where you will find them. A little more info might be helpfull

I went into device manager, it just shows printer port under the ports section.

You may have disabled your ports in your computer's BIOS ...
Check in there (under wich section on your BIOS depends on the BIOS' manufacturer)...
You need to restart your pc to get into the BIOS (first messages on screen after you power-on your computer)... Just in case you didn't already know that...

Shutdown windows... Restart your computer...
First messages on the screen should tell you to press a specific key ("DEL", "F2", "F10" or some other key or key-combination) to get into "SETUP" ...
This message, depending on your proccessor speed, may appear/disappear very fast, so you must put attention very close...
