Can't download files anymore!

I used to be able to download programs from zdnet etc, but now when i click on download it doesn't come up with a window to ask where to save(or run) the file! Using IE 6.0

my explorer is set on accept all cookies, this is a problem not just with zdnet but others too (creative labs drivers site). I dont know for sure, but the problem may have started since upgrading to IE 6. although i don't download things very often.

xxI don't use IE6. But, take a look in Tools>>Internet Options>>Security>>Custom Level>>Look under Downloads to see if it's Enabled or Disabled Like I said, I don't use IE6 so that would be IE5.5's instructions. Good Luck :)

Thanx, tried that but didn't work, it was on enable, so clicked disable-saved it-when back in and enabled it again-still nothing. I reinstalled windows (me) today hoping that would fix it, but didnt. might backup my files and do a clean install of win2000 tommorow, i was gonna try downloading gozilla or something but can't download it! HAHA! F^&*in PC's - never had this trouble on my amiga/spectrum/atari2600!
