can't delete file

Hi, I downloaded a file the other day and now i can't delete it. When I try to this error message comes up. "Cannot delete file: The filename you specified is invalid or too long. Specify a differant file name." It also won't let me rename or move it. The same message comes up for those too. If someone could help me it would be much appreciated.

hello try deleteing from safe mode do an online scan at housecall anti virus and run ad-ware and try d/ling moosoft,s trojin scanner.

Use your Startup disk and delete it from DOS. If you still can't delete it, one or more attributes are set for R, H, S. If that's so, use deltree.

hit alt ...cntrl..del....see if tht file is in the runnin list on ur puter..if it is highlight it and end task..then goto the file...either highlight it and select delete....or right click it and select delete

hi try this delete the file itwont delete, just click ok, then restart computer and delete it again and chances are it will be gone

I have a .jpg file on Windows Me that I cannot delete because the name is too long. For some reason I cannot find any way to delete this file. Does anyone know a way to delete these types of files?
